Climbin to the top!
Here's a pic of us going up to the top of Stone Mountain, GA. Pretty intense ride on a gondola. Pretty fun. Lots of people were with us on the ride up...Amazing it could carry that many people, but for some, they had to pay to go back down the mountain! It depended on what ticket you bought. Some were surprised and a bit perturbed (rightly so) that they had to actually pay to go back down! There were some with wristbands and some without, and that determined how they got back down the mountain. They could have been informed better I suppose.
Imagine the surprise, shock, and grief that will occur when many appear before Jesus, and they don't have the credential of faith in Christ. Some will feel betrayed, some will feel hurt or angry. But there's one more element to this equation: Me. What was my role in these people's lives? Did I say or do when it really mattered in their lives for eternity? What of my works will be revealed as useless, burned up as hay or rubble? As I ride towards the mountain of God, may I take as many with me as God allows, and may I open my mouth and my heart that He might live through me.

The Journey Is The Destination

Taken from the balcony of our room...Amazing
Isn't it amazing what perspective can do to our lives? In particular, a perspective that puts one in front of what God intended for us to see in the first place? Perspective can change our focus, a perspective focused on God's magnificence can cause our seemingly complex and unending problems and challenges seem small. It's what happens to me when I get a perspective like that. I'm reminded of the verse David quoted as he gazed upon the grandeur of heaven:
8:1 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babies and infants,
you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
and the son of man that you care for him?5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings [2]
you have put all things under his feet,
and crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have given him dominion over the works of your hands;
7 all sheep and oxen,
and also the beasts of the field,
8 the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,
whatever passes along the paths of the seas.9 O Lord, our Lord,
how majestic is your name in all the earth!
