With all the hoopla about change in the political world--yes change is needed, but in my quiet time today I was reminded about God's change. 2 Cor. 5:17 speaks of a radical change. One that happens when we make that eternal connection with Christ. A visible change. An incredible, life-altering change. A new creation.
How many people miss that idea? Christ changes us. Something happens. We want to live differently. We want to want to show others this incredible truth that we've discovered. Zeal is great! But when you have zeal without the wisdom of God, from the Word of God, your message and words get lost in translation.
A new creation is zealous for God. In my life there have been times where that passion has dimmed, and there have been seasons in my life where that passion is a blazing forest fire. Right now, I'm ramping up to the forest fire status. So many "God-ful" (a friend used this word) things have happened in the last two weeks or so. I pray that I live the live of a new creation that God began in me over 15 years ago, and that my life before my family, my students, and my church is an example worthy of being called a "new creation" by my Father.
Sometimes I regret all the time wasted in that time, being a lazy Christian, how much more could have been done for Christ had I not...but then I'm reminded that all I have is TODAY. Today I'm a new Creation in Christ. Today, change is upon me. I must submit to that changing presence of Christ in me...TODAY
