Remaining...Abiding

John 15:9 states, "As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love."

This verse is striking to me for two reasons. First of all, because this is my life verse. What's a life verse? Why not a life paragraph or a life book or even the entire Bible! It's simply a way for me to grasp in a nutshell God's continual reminder to me through the Holy Spirit that I have a purpose on this planet. Part of that purpose is summed up in this passage. To remain, or dwell in the love of Christ.

Secondly, I'm constantly re-learning the way of a Christ-dweller. Each time I'm reminded of this verse, I see a glimpse of God's passion for me to live my life for His glory. To live my life in constant conversation with Him. Conversation that not only includes the cries and longings of my heart, but also a conversation filled with life's constant challenges and struggles seen through the lens of what it means to be in a temporary vessel, longing for my eternal dwelling place, my eternal place of abiding, my heavenly abode.

To those who would seek to stay, to remain in the love of Christ, so continues the journey I'm on in this life as a dweller This blog is about those ideas and conversations about life, about faith, about Christ, and the incredible love that he has promised to those who know him. That's the love he's called us to continue to remain in...to abide.
